Peter Pierre Livermont (Livermore) &
Julia Le Claire Family
Julia and Peter Livermont met in Dakota Territory and later moved to Hamburg, Iowa. They were married on January 6, 1849, in Atchinson County, Missouri, just across the border from Hamburg. They had seven children.Â
The family has been traced from Hamburg to the Nemaha Reservation in Richardson County, Nebraska, then to the Platte River area in western Nebraska near Fort Laramie, where they joined Red Cloud and his band, and later to the Cheyenne River Reservation, where Julia’s mother Mary Her Many Horses lived. Their youngest son, Joseph was born there in 1868.Â
